Welcome To Two Sunspots!

Welcome to Two Sunspots, a site designed to bring you some great Stranglers bootlegs. This is intended for fans, and is non profit and I ask anyone downloading from this site to respect that and to always support the band by purchasing official releases. No commercially released material will be posted here, and I will honour the wishes of the band and their representatives and remove any material if asked to do so. We are interested in any era of the band and of course their solo work too, if you have anything that you think must be heard then let me know...it's good to share!

What's happening with Two Sunspots?

It's been a while since I posted anything here and you probably know the closure of MegaUpload pretty much killed all the links for recordings too. I had pretty much decided to let Two Sunspots stand as I felt and still do feel that the Aural Sculptures blog site was representing Stranglers fans better than Two Sunspots was and has access to loads of great recordings. Then MegaUpload killed the remaining gigs on here, I do get notifications if people leave comments and if there are shows you want re-upped then leave a comment and I will do that for you (Manchester 2011 has a new link for this reason).

Thanks for visiting!

New Stranglers Blog launches!

Great to see Adrian launch a new Stranglers blog site which has some great recordings of the band and other favourites of his.

Over to Adrian to tell you more!

"As a collector of their live recordings for many years I want to share some of the better quality material with other fans. By selecting the higher quality recordings I hope to present The Stranglers in the best possible light for the benefit of those less familiar with their material than the hardcore fan."

I for one will be grabbing some stuff from there and I know you guys will be too....

Soundboard recording from the Playhouse towards the end of the Meninblack tour. One magazine described it as 'THE definitive Stranglers bootleg', and they got it spot on. One of the best, if not the best, Stranglers boots around.

Front cover provided once again by LaidBlack!

La Louvière Festival, Belgium 13th September 1986

An excellent soundboard from 1986 before the release of "Dreamtime". The band were late on due to the theft of a guitar and having to get hold of a replacement. Lots of chat here split mostly between French and English....and you even get "The Real Polish Joke!". "Always The Sun" is announced as "something completely new" where "Paradise" is something you won't forget in a hurry (and not in a good way!) "Tank" fades after the 3 minute mark but other than that this is a great download!

J.J.Burnel - Songs & Stories RFH, Purcell Rooms, London 13th December 2000

OMG!!! This is amazing!!! Don't think twice about grabbing this one - you will not regret it! Excellent audience recording of J.J. solo and acoustic, very laid back and very honest with J.J. talking at length (Stories) between tracks. "Skin Deep" goes a bit wrong as he forgets the lyrics and a great run through of Hawkwind's "Quark, Strangeness & Charm" (didn't The Damned play that for a while too?) one of Robert Calverts great lyrics either way!
